HAGERSTOWN – Do you ever feel like you’re just not clicking with someone, even when you’re trying your best? Or maybe you’ve wondered why certain people thrive in chaos while others need structure and calm?
Turns out, there’s a reason. And the Washington County Chamber of Commerce wants to help participants in an upcoming workshop figure that out. The workshop will be held at Chamber offices, 1 Potomac St. from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on May 9.
In what they plan as a highly interactive and fun workshop, participants will learn about the four main behavioral styles (dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness) through the QuikDiSC card game. It’s an engaging way to better understand how you naturally show up in conversations, how you handle pressure and how you like to work with others, Chamber officials noted.
This session isn’t a lecture or a personality test. It’s a fast-paced experience that helps participants recognize their behavioral “superpower” – and how they can use it in ways that improve communication skills, reduce conflict and make teamwork smoother. Those attending should leave with a clearer picture of how their own styles impact the way they lead, listen and connect with the people around them.
The workshop is led by Jean Radish, a seasoned coach with considerable leadership experience. She has been a plant manager and chief operating officer, and she now helps organizations grow and thrive without losing what makes them special. Her approach combines people, process and purpose in a way that is practical and easy to relate to, according to Chamber leaders.
A maximum of 30 participants can register. And the no-cost workshop isn’t designed just for corporate leaders but for anyone – student, professional or someone in between – who wants to be a better teammate, a stronger leader or just understand people a little more clearly.
