CHAMERSBURG, Pa. — The Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg recently hosted a STEM Family Night at the Chambersburg Clubhouse, bringing together youth and their families for an evening of hands-on science and community connection.
Families enjoyed dinner before participating in the evening’s featured activity: designing and building egg-protective vessels to be dropped from a Chambersburg Fire Department Ladder Truck. The challenge encouraged creative thinking, engineering skills, and teamwork among participants of all ages.
The Club extends its congratulations to all youth and families whose egg vessels survived the drop.
The evening was made possible through the generous support of several community partners. Capt. Anthony Chen and Robert Barrett of the Chambersburg Fire Department assisted with the egg drop activity. Nick Roth, from Negley’s Water & Well Drilling, led the planning and execution of the activity. Hillside Poultry Farm donated the eggs used in the event, and Negley’s Water kept the group well hydrated.
The group also expressed thanks to the Franklin County Housing Authority for their continued partnership and support of the Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and the broader community, as well as to the Target Foundation for providing funding this year’s family nights.
