Bendell seeks county office

MERCERSBURG—Clayton Bendell has announced his candidacy for Register & Recorder of Franklin County.

Bendell, a resident of Montgomery Township, is currently serving as Chairman of the Franklin County Young Republicans and is active in many community causes and organizations.

“It has been an honor to be selected to serve the Franklin County Republican Committee and I would like to continue in public service serving the residents and taxpayers of Franklin County,” Bendell said. “I firmly believe that our elected officials at all levels have a responsibility to ensure that we are getting the most out of every tax dollar spent. If elected, I will bring fresh ideas and contemporary vision to the Register & Recorder’s office, while ensuring the office remains efficient and accountable.”

If elected, Bendell would replace Linda Miller, who retired after 35 years.

The Recorder of Deeds is responsible for recording and maintaining land record documents, including: deeds, mortgages, etc. The Register of Wills is responsible for the administration of probate estates and is also a collection agency for the Department of Revenue for State Realty Transfer Taxes and Inheritance Taxes.

Bendell is a graduate of James Buchanan High School, and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Shippensburg University. He currently is employed as the Vice President and Director of Operations at Thompson Oil Company, located in Waynesboro.

“I enjoy public and community service and would be honored to serve Franklin County as your next Register & Recorder,” Bendell said. “If elected, I am committed to making efficient and effective decisions, providing quality service and working for the taxpayers and citizens of Franklin County. I humbly ask for your support in the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 16.”
