Buttonwood Nature Center, home of The Institute is offering a new series of six outdoor nature programs for preschoolers in June and July. Designed for pre-K children ages 2.5 to 5, the Wee Wonder programs will run on Thursdays, June 13, 20, 27, and July 11, 18, 25 from 10–11:30 a.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro, Pa. NEWVILLE- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the northbound Interstate 81 Welcome Center, located about a mile north of the Maryland state line in Franklin County, will be closed the week of June 3-7 so the facility’s current heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system can be replaced with an energy efficient system.  The Welcome Center parking area also will be closed. HAGERSTOWN, MD- Young athletes from the Federal Little League will have a chance to swing for the fences in the local qualifying round of the 2024 T-Mobile Home Run Derby. The T-Mobile Home Run Derby is a nationwide competition open to Little League Baseball and Softball players between the ages of 9 and 12.
