The Blue Ridge Summit Free Library will hold its 48th annual Ice Cream Social and Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, on the library grounds. The event is a fundraiser for the library. More than 4,000 books will be offered for sale, including selections for adults, teens and children on a wide range of topics. Audio books, DVDs, and music CDs will also be sold. MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP- A 7-year-old boy died in a tragic farming accident on Tuesday in Franklin County, Pennsylvania State Police reported. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on July 2 at a farm near the intersection of Young Road and Mercersburg Road in Montgomery Township. According to authorities, the child was assisting with farm work when he was struck by a piece of machinery. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
