HARRISBURG- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is reminding travelers that a detour is scheduled to begiN Saturday, July 20, at the bridge replacement project on Route 116 near Gettysburg in Adams County. The bridge spans a tributary to Willoughby Run just west of Willoughby Run Road in Cumberland Township.  The detour will use Knoxlyn Ortanna Road (Route 3020), Knoxlyn Road (Route 3013), Route 30 and Baltimore Street. SHIPPENSBURG — The Shippensburg Borough Fire Chief has issued a burn ban, prohibiting all outdoor burning due to recent dry conditions. The ban will remain in effect until weather conditions improve. Fire Chief Randy O’Donnell announced that no burn permits will be issued during this period, and recreational fires are strictly prohibited. However, outdoor cooking using grills or other covered devices is still permitted. CHAMBERSBURG — A local gymnastics school in Chambersburg, was the target of an overnight break-in, prompting an investigation by state police. The Wilson School of Gymnastics and Dance, located at 91 Brim Blvd, reported that their facility was burglarized at approximately 1:20 a.m. on July 18. Asian tiger mosquito populations typically increase around mid-July, peak in mid-September and taper off in October as nighttime temperatures drop.
