CHAMBERSBURG- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled a bridge inspection on Interstate 81 over Conococheague Creek near Chambersburg in Franklin County for Thursday, July 25, and Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. The inspection will take place between Exit 17 (Walker Road) and Exit 20 (Route 997/Scotland) in Greene Township, with work on the northbound direction on Thursday and southbound on Friday. Right lane restrictions will be in effect in the direction of the inspection. Motorists are advised to be cautious when driving through the work zone.
CHAMBERSBURG – The Franklin County Commissioners has announced the 2024 recipients of the county’s nursing scholarship program. Six area high school graduates will each receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship to pursue a career in nursing. Since 2017, the scholarship program has provided financial assistance to 48 Franklin County high school seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Scholarships are funded by proceeds from the 2013 sale of the county nursing home. McCONNELLSBURG – The Fulton County Medical Center (FCMC) in McConnellsburg has announced the expansion of its ultrasound imaging service hours to better accommodate the needs of the community.
