HARRISBURG – Lt. Col. Kristal Turner-Childs has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Staff for the Pennsylvania State Police. Described by subordinates as “brilliant, bold” and “brave,” Turner-Childs is the first African-American woman in the department’s 116-year history to attain the rank. A native of Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Turner-Childs enlisted in the PSP in February 1998 and was assigned to Troop J, Avondale after graduating from the academy. HARRISBURG – Members of the public can “treat” themselves to a quality used vehicle with no costume required at the Commonwealth’s October Auction taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at Manheim Keystone Pennsylvania, 488 Firehouse Road. More than 300 vehicles will be available for public purchase.
