YORK—Gov. Tom Wolf has announced following the Biden Administration’s new final rule on ghost guns, Pennsylvania stands ready to implement the same regulation at the state level. The new regulation will ensure that partially manufactured frames and receivers require a background check at the point of sale, in addition to requiring dealers and gunsmiths in the commonwealth to serialize and inventory any unregistered firearms that come into their business. “The numbers don’t lie: ghost guns are being seized and recovered from crime scenes at an alarming rate,” said Wolf. “If you want to own a gun, you need to go…

MARION—Shalom Christian Academy will host the Dutchfest 2022 May 6 and 7. The event kicks off Friday with food concessions featuring pork barbecue sandwiches and homestyle foods, plus craft show and used book area. A live sports auction will be offered Friday evening. CHAMBERSBURG—The Franklin County Commissioners, along with the Franklin County Office of Veterans Affairs, will host a drive-through Veteran Appreciation Expo. Set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 14, the Veteran Appreciation Expo will be held at the Marine Corps League, 450 Grant St., Chambersburg. Franklin County veterans attending this drive-through event will receive information on available resources and services along with one free barbecue chicken meal, including sides, with valid proof of military service. Shippensburg baseball team clinches PSAC playoff berth SHIPPENSBURG – The Shippensburg University baseball team clinched a playoff spot with a Saturday series sweep of Mansfield, defeating the Mountaineers by scores of 8-1 and 15-4 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action at Fairchild Field. ZULLINGER—The Zullinger Community Center will host a Variety Bingo May 14 to raise funds for an adaptive playground. The event will include small games of chance, raffles and more.
