WAYNESBORO- The Monterey Pass Museum is kicking off their fund-raising with a ceremony on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. at the Museum to purchase battlefield land and Toll House. Mrs. Nancy Crago, a long-time friend of The Friends of Monterey Pass, docent at the MontereyPass Museum and supporter of historical preservation efforts for the Battle of Monterey Pass, will commit $10,000 to the Monterey Pass Museum. With this donation, The Friends of Monterey Pass will also kick off their fund raising campaign to purchase the historic Toll House and adjacent battlefield land.

HARRISBURG– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that, as part of ongoing security enhancements, PennDOT is updating the design and enhancing the security features of its driver license and identification card products. “The update is an important component of PennDOT’s ongoing work to enhance and protect the integrity of the driver license and identification card issuance process,” PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian said. HARRISBURG – The Wolf Administration has announced that it has awarded $762,414 in grants to help Pennsylvania’s rural communities increase protection from wildfires. The grants were awarded to qualifying local firefighting forces in rural areas and communities with fewer than 10,000 people. Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Company in Fulton County was awarded $5,225.
