WAYNESBORO — Work on a project that will help fulfill a vision to connect the Boro Plaza on Walnut Street and the downtown area has begun. The $217,762 revitalization effort will feature the installation of 11 new Victorian style street lights on both sides of Walnut Street between Second and Third streets. A ribbon cutting is set for at 9 a.m., about 30 minutes before the store opens, according to its website. Area residents will be participating in a Water Walk for Kenya Saturday, June 1 to raise funds for portable water filtration systems for villagers in rural Maasai and Kampo villages in the Great Rift Valley and northeast Kenya. Andrew Paterno is fulfilling his calling. The 29-year-old Waynesboro man is serving as pastor of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.
