WAYNESBORO – Artist William H. Robson (1908-68) will be the subject of the next third Thursday Biography Breakfast. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at Main Street Family Diner, 1543 E. Main St. The event is open to the public, but reservations are required. A printer, photographer and limner, Robson was noted for his impromptu sketches of guest speakers at Waynesboro Rotary Club luncheon meetings. Bras for a Cause is kicking off its eighth campaign in October. “All money raised benefits Franklin County breast care patients,” according to Rhonda McFarland, who started the campaign in 2016 with Carol MacDougall, of Concord, Mass., a 24-year breast cancer survivor and continuing supporter of the fundraiser. Donations, which include financial contributions and new and gently used bras, will be accepted through Oct. 31 and support Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance, Mercersburg. WAYNESBORO – McKenzie Bittinger was about 9 years old when she knew she wanted to be part of the Seeing Eye Program. Recently the 18-year-old Waynesboro resident was honored with a  $1,750 scholarship toward her tuition at Penn State Mont Alto. To qualify, students must have raised at least two Seeing Eye puppies, demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and been active in their communities. The third annual Waynesboro Area Community Service Fair was held Sept. 14 at Memorial Park. The fair was sponsored St. Mary’s Episcoplal Church, which initiated the first event, as well as Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jesus Alive Ministries, Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc., New Hope Shelter and Waynesboro Community and Human Services.
