CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Organizers are seeking community donations and sponsorships for the 12th annual First Responders Appreciation Day, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 11.
Hosted by the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance and sponsored by Corning Credit Union, the annual event honors local emergency medical personnel, firefighters and police officers across the region by assembling and delivering care packages directly to emergency stations.
Community members and businesses can participate by donating individually wrapped items to be included in station care packages. Requested items include:
- Snacks & Food: Granola bars, protein bars, beef jerky, trail mix, candy, and chips.
- Beverages: Sports drinks, canned coffee, and K-Cups.
- Personal Care: Hand sanitizer and lip balm.
- Station Supplies: Highlighters, ink pens, and memo books.
All physical donations must be individually wrapped for delivery.
Organizers are also collecting monetary donations to purchase additional supplies, food, and gift cards, as well as thank-you cards to include in each care package delivered to area stations. Business sponsorship packages remain available for local organizations looking to support the initiative.
All physical care package items and donations can be dropped off at the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, located at 100 Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg.
