Jacqueline G. “Jackie” (Hoover) Boyd, 87, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA.

Born January 24, 1938, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Maude E. (Heefner) Hoover.

She graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1955.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Milton F. Boyd were married October 29, 1955, in Quincy Township. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Mr. Boyd passed away May 29, 2009.

Mrs. Boyd held several jobs throughout her life. She was employed at Stanley Company where she held an office position for 20 years. She later worked for Knouse Foods, Quincy Orphanage, and Regency Book Company. Upon completing her working career, she spent her time babysitting and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted member of the New Baltimore Church of God, South Mountain, PA, where her faith remained an important part of her life. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing bingo, and could often be found watching her favorite game shows. She was a passionate fan of Jimmy Swaggart and Johnny Cash. Sundays were especially meaningful- attending church together, followed by lunch and shopping outings with her beloved grandchildren. Above all, she dedicated herself to her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured all the special moments spent with them.

Mrs. Boyd is survived by her two children, Frederick “Fred” Boyd and Lisa Rhone and her husband Shawn both of South Mountain; her beloved grandchildren, Kristi Baker, TJ Baker, Nathan Baker, Sara Roberts, Brianne Taylor, and Steph Weikert; 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Bob Hoover, Bill Hoover, Bonnie Gossert, and George Hoover; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry K. Baker; one brother, John E. “Sonny” Hoover; one daughter-in-law, Karen Boyd; and one son-in-law, Edward Baker.

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 18, 2025, in New Baltimore Church of God, 4947 Spruce Road, Fayetteville, with Rev. Lee Daywalt officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, PA.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is assisting with the arrangements.
