LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Head women’s soccer coach Sam Odell, head football coach Ernie McCook and sports information director Chip Ransom have been named as PSAC 75th Anniversary Distinguished Keystones as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference is celebrating its 75th anniversary season in 2025-26.
Odell has been the Shepherd head women’s soccer since 2021. He came to Shepherd as a graduate assistant in 2019 before being elevated to head coach. He had a 37-26-6 record, heading into the Rams’ 2025 season. Odell led the Rams to PSAC and Atlantic Region championships with a an 18-2-4 mark in 2024, which was the first Shepherd team to capture a PSAC title.
McCook has served as head football coach of the Rams since 2018, leading the Rams to a 59-18 record entering 2025 season. Under McCook, the Rams have made three regional and a pair of Super Region One title appearances. He was named PSAC East Coach of the Year and American Football Coaches Association Region One Coach of the Year honors in 2022. Before becoming head coach, McCook was offensive coordinator for nine years and was offensive line coach for 10 years for Shepherd from 1999-2008.
Ransom has served as sports information director since 1997. He nominated and promoted 2021 Harlon Hill Award winner Tyson Bagent. Ransom earned the College Sports Communicators 25-Year Award in 2023. He is a member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the Football Writers Association of America, the United States Basketball Writers Association, and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Thomas Johnson 3, South Hagerstown 1
Jaliah Morgan had 10 kills and Malea Moore added seven kills and 12 digs to pace South Hagerstown in a four-set loss to Thomas Johnson.
The Rebels win the first set, 25-22, before TJ rallied for 25-14, 25-23, 25-16 scores in the next three to secure the victory.
Tenley Yost added 9 kills, two blocks and three aces for South, while Molly Haines had four aces and 15 assists and Isidora McCarthy contributed 14 digs and five kills.
Molly Pollak had 16 assists, Reilly Foley collected 15 digs and Carson Lehman added seven kills to round out the Rebels attack.
MENS SOCCER
Shepherd Men Down UPJ
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Boonsboro graduate Mac Long and midfielder Justin Langon each had a goal and an assist to lead Shepherd University to a 4-1 victory to hand Pitt-Johnstown its first loss of the season.
The Rams (2-4-0) took a 1-0 lead on Long’s goal an assist by Langon at the 4:58 mark.
Shepherd grabbed a 2-0 advantage on an unassisted goal by Josh Petty at the 10:29 mark.
The Rams made it 3-0 at the 46:00 mark on Langon’s goal, assisted by Long.
Shepherd took a four-goal lead at the 74:28 mark on an unassisted goal by Anthony Nzuzi.
Pitt-Johnstown scored at the 77:14 mark with an unassisted goal by Jaeger James.
Goalkeeper Aidan Houck posted six saves for the Rams.
Shepherd had a 21-10 advantage in shots and a 14-7 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had a 9-5 advantage on corner kicks.
FLAG FOOTBALL
Thomas Johnson 46, South Hagerstown 0
FREDERICK, Md. – Thomas Johnson shut down South Hagerstown’s offense to turn back the Rebels on Wednesday.
South (0-4) managed 17 yards of offense.
Trinity Savage led the Rebels with 12 yards rushing on five carries and caught three passes for 22 yards. Chloe Phoenix, who was one of three South quarterbacks, connected on 2 of 4 passes for 9 yards.
Recently, Savage rushed for 71 yards on four carries and a touchdown in South Hagerstown’s 41-6 loss to Frederick.
Savage also caught six passes for 35 yards. One of her runs went for 59 yards.
Quarterback Kaelynn Kunkle was 7 for 18 passing for 38 yards, while rushing six times for 8 yards.
