KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Shepherd University women’s soccer team cracked the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II rankings, moving into the national spotlight at No. 24.
The Rams (3-0-2) defeated No. 17 Kutztown and scored an 18-0 victory over Mansfield last week.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, traveling to No. 21 Bloomsburg.

Shepherd Finishes Fifth at Vulcan Invitational
BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Sara Veara finished second to help Shepherd University take fifth in seven-team Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Course on Tuesday.
Veara scored 149 in the two round to finish six strokes behind medalist Marina Saviceva-Noti of Davis & Elkins. Millersville won the team title.
Following Veara for Shepherd were Williamsport’s Kaylie Brown (186, 21st), Allison Wallace (207, 27th), Grace Academy’s Madison Burns (293, 31st) and Natalee Johnson (32nd).
MEN’S GOLF
Shepherd Ties for Sixth at Hannastown Intercollegiate Invitational
GREENSBURG, Pa. –Shepherd University shot a three-round total of 909 to finish in a tie for sixth place at the Hannastown Intercollegiate at the Hannastown Golf Club.
Pitt-Johnstown shot an 863 to take team honors. Griffin Hansberry of UPJ took medalist honors with a 208.
Trey Rios Fired a 223 to tie for 14th place to pace the Rams. He was followed South Hagerstown’s Joey Leisinger (225, T-17th), Killian Donnelly (232, T-45th), Boonsboro’s Morgan Dehoff (233, T-48th) and Ben Heidrick (243, T-77th).
Senior Luke Davis competed as an individual and shot a 249 to tie for 81st place.
