LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Shepherd University women’s soccer player Reagan Ackermann was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-East Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Ackermann, a midfielder from Middletown, Maryland, led the Rams to a critical win over No. 17 Kutztown in a division battle, handing the Golden Bears their first loss of the season.
Ackermann played 89 minutes and scored the second goal of the game, in the 65th minute, to give Shepherd some breathing room. Ackermann added a goal and an assist in Shepherd’s win over Mansfield as the Rams remain unbeaten.

Shepherd sits in fifth at Vulcan Invitational
BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Sara Veara fired a 78 to tie for second place to lead Shepherd University to fifth place on Monday after the first round of the Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
Following Veara, a senior from Berkeley Springs, West Virginia,, are Williamsport’s Kaylie Brown (92, 22nd), Natalee Johnson (93, T-23rd), Allison Wallace (110, 31st), and Paige Stickley (150, 32nd).
The final round will be played today.

Shepherd is sixth at the Hannastown Intercollegiate Invitational
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Trey Rios fired a two-round total of 147 and is tied for 13th place to pace Shepherd University after Monday’s 36-hole action at the Hannastown Intercollegiate. The Rams are sixth in a 15-team field.
Joey Leisinger, a senior from South Hagerstown, follows Rios for (152, T-32nd) with Killian Donnelly and Boonsboro’s Morgan Dehoff tying for 41st place after shooting 154. Ben Heidrick rounds out Shepherd’s team (164, T-77th).
Senior Luke Davis competed as an individual and carded 159 to tie for 62nd place.
The Rams return to action today for final-round tourney action.
