Mr. Charles W. Scott, 87, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in his home.
Born April 22, 1938, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harry E. Scott Sr. and Hazel B. (Stull) Scott.
Mr. Scott served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1961.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Margaret S. (Ferguson) Scott, met in Scotland while he served in the United States Air Force. They were married June 1, 1959. They lived in Scotland with the two oldest children until 1961 when they made the United States their permanent home. They shared 66 years together when Mrs. Scott passed away July 2, 2025.
Mr. Scott was employed at Knouse Fruitlands for 40 years. He later worked at Walmart in Hagerstown, MD for 15 years.
He was the coach to several baseball and girls’ softball teams over the years. He was an avid Penn State University football fan, enjoyed all sorts of hunting, and picking mushrooms.
He is survived by his children, Alan Scott of Hagerstown, Robert Scott of Shippensburg, PA, Marion Ramsey, Linda Stull, and James Scott all of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, B. LaRue Strang, Harry E. Scott Jr., Thelma J. Shatzer, Robert Lee Scott; and one grandson, Dane Cook.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
