ROUZERVILLE – Hundreds gathered at the Lowe’s parking lot in Rouzerville for Washington Township’s National Night Out, a vibrant community event fostering connections between residents and local services.
The evening showcased local law enforcement, fire and EMS representatives alongside community partners. Attendees enjoyed basketball, football and axe-throwing inflatables, while food trucks served a variety of dishes. Military vendors from the Navy, Air Force and Marines engaged the crowd, with the Marines offering a stationary pull-up bar for children.
A scavenger hunt encouraged kids to visit vendors, including Valley College nursing students who hosted a ball-toss game. Other vendors distributed safety flyers, with South Central Pennsylvania Highway Safety focusing on car seat education and Saving God’s Children raising awareness about anti-human trafficking. The Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue Squad delighted children with its barrel train, while the Antietam Humane Society brought a litter of puppies for petting. Pentagon Protection Force Agency and WellSpan EMS also participated, rounding out the diverse lineup.
The event strengthened community ties, blending fun with education in a festive atmosphere.
