Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Morris, 86, of Fayetteville, PA, formerly of Gettysburg, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA following a brief illness.

Born March 1, 1939, in Beelick Knob, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Roy Morris and Nellie (Gwinn) Morris Hanshew.

He graduated from Meadow Bridge High School, Meadow Bridge, WV, with the class of 1957. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston).

He owned and operated Bob Morris Furniture for 35 years. Over the years he added to his business and had four stores at one time, operating in York, Hanover, Waynesboro and Chambersburg.

He married the love of his life, Susan (Suzie) E. (Kohr) Morris November 21, 1992, at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, MD.

He was a former member of Gettysburg Country Club, where he served as a board member; he was a 25-year charter member of King and Prince Golf Course at the Hampton Club, St. Simons Island, GA where he and Suzie enjoyed being snowbirds.

He was also a member of the Waynesboro Country Club. Bob & Suzie enjoyed numerous golf trips, playing golf throughout the United States.

Bob will be remembered as a friendly, easy-going man who loved to play golf, and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Boston Red Sox. He had 6 holes-in-one during his years of golfing. He also was a great Bridge player and played with the couple’s bridge club at the Waynesboro Country Club and would even sub in for the ladies group when they need an extra player.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Morris.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Waynesboro Country Club on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Golf attire is welcomed.
