GREENCASTLE – One of the first events to be held as part of the 42nd triennial Old Home Week will be the judging of the displays set up in storefront windows in downtown Greencastle. The judging will take place on the evening of Friday, Aug. 1.
For a display to be an official entry, and eligible for prize money, a registration form must be submitted to Bill Gour, the committee chair, by July 27. There are seven categories to register under: History, Our Community, Our Heroes, Toys and Games, Collectibles, and Clothing and Household Items. First place in each category will receive $150; $100 will go to second place; and the grand prize winner will receive $300.
“This is a great opportunity to get involved in Old Home Week and to add to the enjoyment experienced by everyone who visits downtown,” said Gour. “People will make the rounds just to see the displays. It is also an excellent way for non-profits to promote themselves and the work they do.”
The other members of the committee are Larisa Martin, Amy Hicks, Canaan Gour, Landon Gour, Nathan Nardi, and Elissa Parsons.
For more information, or to obtain a registration form, visit the Old Home Week website (oldhomeweek.org) or contact Bill Gour at 717-597-9202 or via email at [email protected].
