GETTYSBURG – The American Battlefield Trust is inviting history enthusiasts nationwide to participate in the 63-Mile Challenge this July, a monthlong fitness initiative supporting the restoration of the Gettysburg Battlefield.
Participants are encouraged to walk, run, hike or bike a total of 63 miles at their own pace throughout the month. The challenge is open to all ages and abilities and can be completed anywhere, whether on local trails, neighborhood streets or even treadmills.
Proceeds from the event will fund critical restoration work at Gettysburg, the site of the pivotal 1863 Civil War battle. Organizers say every mile logged helps protect and preserve the historic landscape for future generations.
Registration is open now, with options to donate or join the challenge. The Trust hopes the event will inspire individuals to honor the legacy of Gettysburg and support ongoing educational efforts tied to America’s past.
