John B. Schlichter IV, 55, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born June 18, 1969, in Chambersburg, the son of Shirley and John Schlichter III. He is survived by his common law wife, Maurita Whittaker; their 13 year old daughter, Kyley; his sister, Angel Kimple; his niece, Cassie Kennedy; and his Mother, Shirley Schlichter. He is preceded in death by his father, John Schlichter III. John performed carpentry in the workforce for most of his life and after surviving a pulmonary embolism worked part time as the maintenance supervisor at the American Legion in Chambersburg. He enjoyed all sports especially football and was a huge Steelers and Georgia Bulldogs fan. John loved all animals especially dogs and always owned a German Shepherd, his favorite breed. John was a very loving and devoted father who shared a special bond with his daughter. He is and will be forever missed. Services will be private and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
