Mrs. Lillie M. (Reeder) Cordell, 90, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025 in Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Born August 31, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Zeger) Reeder Hoover.
She and her husband, the late Wayne E. Cordell were married December 19, 1954. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage before Mr. Cordell passed away December 19, 2014.
In her younger years, Mrs. Cordell worked at Stanley Company. She later became dedicated to staying at home taking care of her children.
She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greencastle; a life member of the Greencastle V.F.W.; and an auxiliary member of the Greencastle American Legion Post #373. She enjoyed crocheting, putting together puzzles and painting.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Cordell of Greencastle and Teresa Welsh and her husband, Wrennis of Falling Waters, WV; two step-grandchildren, Nathan and Faithlynn Welsh; 3 great step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Shuman, infant brother Leroy Reeder, Robert Reeder, Patsy Helfrick, and Nelson Reeder.
Services will be held 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle with Rev. Linda Watkins officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Tuesday evening, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lillie’s honor can be made to the Antietam Human Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
