Mrs. Nancy R. “Nan” (Higman) Levick, 93, of Chambersburg, PA, and formerly of Waynesboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Providence Place in Chambersburg.

Born on October 11, 1931, in Beaver Creek, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Florence A. (Poffenberger) Higman.

Nancy was a graduate of Boonsboro High School, Class of 1950. She married the late W.E. “Chase” Levick on April 4, 1953, and they shared 25 years together before his passing on September 12, 1978.

Throughout her career, Nancy worked at Fairchild Corporation from 1950 to 1955 and later as a Parts Finisher with AMP Corporation. She was a dedicated member of Trinity United Church of Christ, as well as the Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15Ladies Auxiliary and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1191 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Waynesboro.

Nancy had a passion for travel, with a special fondness for trips to Atlantic City, New Jersey. During the summers, she cherished visiting Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, where she could often be found crabbing on the pier from morning to evening. Up until the past seven years, she enjoyed mushroom hunting with her son and picking dandelions with her sister. Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, love of family, and the joy she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her son, Michael Levick of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Tara Cornwall (David) of Dillsburg, PA, and Kenny Levick (Lauren Forrest) of Eugene, OR; two great-grandchildren, Aerick Cornwall and Link Cornwall; her sister, Martha E. Fleming of Chambersburg; her brother, Robert Higman of Boonsboro, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Harold “Tom” Levick, in 2018, and four siblings, Elizabeth Wolfe, George “Jack” Higman, Richard Higman, and Charlotte Myers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and she will be deeply missed.
