Snow to begin falling this evening

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday evening, Jan. 6, through 4 a.m. Friday morning.

Snow is expected to move through Franklin, Perry, Cumberland and Adams counties, with a total snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches.

NWS officials say plan on slippery road conditions. Hazardous travel conditions could impact this evening and tomorrow morning commutes.

PennDOT officials are suggesting motorists avoid driving in inclement weather if possible.

Check 511PA.com or the 511PA app for information about road conditions and any vehicle restrictions during the upcoming storm. For winter driving tips, visit penndot.gov/winter.
