ROUZERVILLE—Blue Ridge Fire & Rescue Co. 4 recently closed on a building that will serve as a substation.
The new building is located at 12169 Pen Mar Road, Waynesboro.
“Our goal for over 15 years has been to make a move into Rouzerville to help better serve our community,” explained Fire Chief Chris Daywalt on a social media post. “Our station in Blue Ridge Summit will still be in service and we will still hold our fundraisers there. This move was to realign our assets to better serve our wonderful community.”
The new station will be placed in service on Nov. 23 and will house an engine, ambulance and utility truck.
“We would like to give our biggest thanks to our volunteers for all of their hard work in making this happen, our community members for their continuous support, Barry Martin, owner of Copyquik, for making this dream become a reality and Nathan, owner of Hometown Home Services, who had completed all the renovations to put this all together,” Daywalt said. “This year marks serving the community for 115 years. We look forward to serving the community at the same quality and high standard for another 115 years to come.”
