Antietam Historical Association to Host Biography Breakfast on Waynesboro Industrialist

Antietam Historical Association (AHA) will host the Third Thursday Biography Breakfast April 18 at Main Street Diner, 1543 E. Main St., Waynesboro.

The breakfast starts at 8 a.m. and is open to the public; however, reservations are required, and all attendees must purchase breakfast from the restaurant.

The subject of the round-table discussion will be Waynesboro industrialist and business leader Daniel Norris Benedict (1882–1976). A native Quincy Township, Benedict began his career as a teacher in his home district. In 1902, he became a clerk at Frick Co. and held various positions, including president. He also served as chairman of the board of Citizens National Bank of Waynesboro and as a director of various other corporations.

For reservations or more information, contact AHA at 717-762-2006 or: [email protected]

AHA, founded in 2006 to interpret the history of the region in Maryland and Pennsylvania drained by Antietam Creek, pursues its mission through publishing books and sponsoring several study groups.
