CHAMBERSBURG– Franklin County Veterans Affairs is hoping to make the holidays a little brighter for local veterans through its Christmas Stockings Collection campaign.
Through Dec. 5, Franklin County Veterans Affairs will be collecting Christmas stockings filled with goodies and other items to be distributed to veterans and military families at the December Franklin County MilitaryShare food distribution events. Some suggestions for donated items include but are not limited to: travel-sized toiletries, candy, batteries, notepads and pens, gift cards, playing cards, unsealed Christmas cards, and hand sanitizer.
Items can be dropped off at the following locations during regular business hours:
- American Legion Post 46, 755 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg;
- American Legion Post 373, 254 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle;
- Franklin County Veterans Affairs, 425 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg; and
- Veterans of Foreign Wars, 747 S. 4th St., Chambersburg
