CHAMBERSBURG– Stevens Elementary School has officially launched its new StoryWalk, an innovative outdoor reading experience that blends storytelling with physical activity. The project was made possible through a generous grant from the CASD Foundation.
StoryWalks are a unique way to engage children in reading and encourage them to explore their surroundings. The concept involves placing pages from a children’s book along a predetermined path, transforming a walk into an immersive storytelling adventure.
At Stevens Elementary, the StoryWalk winds through the school’s outdoor learning space, inviting students and families to embark on a literary journey.
The opening of the StoryWalk was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by school officials, CASD Foundation representatives, and excited students. Following the ceremony, eager readers gathered to experience the StoryWalk for the first time, eagerly flipping through the pages of the book as they strolled along the path.
