National Apple Harvest Festival to Celebrate 56 Years

BIGLERVILLE- The National Apple Harvest Festival is returning to Adams County for its 56th year, celebrating the fall harvest season with food, entertainment, and arts and crafts.

This family-friendly event has something for everyone including scores of delicious food options, dozens of free entertainment options and hundreds of arts and crafts vendors. As the name suggests, the festival features nearly every apple food that comes to mind from apple pie to nontraditional treats like apple guacamole!

“We continue to focus on what people want when they come to an old-fashioned festival like ours – and we’ve adapted over the years to include dozens of new food options as well as craft beers, wine and distilled beverages,” Andrew Robinson, National Apple Harvest Festival Publicity Chairman said.

The festival will be held on October 7-8 and 14-15, at the South Mountain Fairgrounds in Biglerville. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, rain or shine.

Admission tickets include parking, shuttle bus or wagon service to the festival grounds, and all live entertainment, attractions, exhibits, and orchard bus tours.

General admission (12+) is $10, seniors (60+) are $9, military with ID are $9 (at the gate), two-day flex admission (12+) is $17, and kids under 12 are free.

The festival features over 300 arts and crafts vendors, antique and classic cars, an antique cider press, antique farm equipment, antique gas engines, an antique shingle mill, apple art, apple jellies, an apple pancake patio, apple syrup making, applesauce and peeler, axe-throwing, candied apples, chainsaw carving, chicken barbecue, country sausage and ham, free live entertainment, French fried sweet potatoes, a gallery of apple memorabilia, hay rides, kettle korn, a kid country barn, native American dancers, official souvenirs, open pit beef, orchard tours, Pennsylvania Dutch funnel cakes, a petting zoo, pony rides, pork barbecue, puppet shows, rock climbing, ribeye steak sandwiches, scarecrows, scrapple making, strolling apple, honey bee, worm, and Johnny Appleseed characters, and vintage sodas.

The National Apple Harvest Festival is a fun event for the whole family.
