Renfrew Museum Erects Timber Frame for New Grist Mill

WAYNESBORO – The Renfrew Museum in Waynesboro, has begun erecting the timber frame for a new grist mill.

The timber frame is being constructed using traditional methods, which are rarely seen in today’s construction world. The large members and the crane erection of the assembled bents are quite impressive.

The museum has been planning for this addition to its historic building campus for at least five years. The grist mill is expected to be completed in the fall of 2023 and will be used to grind corn and other grains. It will also be a space for educational programs and events.

The museum is open to the public and offers a variety of exhibits and programs about the history of Renfrew and the surrounding area.
