WAYNESBORO– Recently, members of the Buchanan Trail Quilters attended a Board Meeting of BLAST, an organization that provides support to families with children/adults with neurodivergence. The quilters had made a quilt and sold raffle tickets, with a portion of the money raised designated for a charitable organization in the local area. This year, BLAST – Bold, Loving, Assertive, Supportive, Together – was voted a very worthy organization.
BLAST has initiated and supported projects to adapt activities that their children can participate in and enjoy. They have organized a baseball league and adapted a bowling opportunity. Their current project is to purchase some integrative intergenerational equipment to be installed at Rotary Park in Waynesboro. When the Buchanan Trail Quilters heard of their project, they decided to become involved.
Carole Keyser presented a check for $1000 to Rob Massette and his mother Stacie Massette, the president of the Board of Directors. The donation will go towards the purchase of the integrative intergenerational equipment.
“We hope that sometime in the future the Buchanan Trail Quilters and the parents, children, and young adults of BLAST could be involved in a project together,” said a spokesperson for the Buchanan Trail Quilters.
