Support the Institute with a Bay Supper

WAYNESBORO— The Institute’s 26th annual Chesapeake Bay-themed fundraiser supper is set for Friday, June 23 at the Waynesboro Country Club. The event begins with hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m., when the silent auction begins. Cash bar available. Dinner is at 6:45 p.m.

The menu reflects the Chesapeake Bay theme, and features hardshell crabs, steamed clams, Assateague clam chowder, mixed greens salad, Landlubbers fried chicken, Old Bay shrimp, Skipjack pasta salad, dinner rolls, and dessert.

“New this year, we have expanded the event to the entire country club,” said Jessica Watson, Institute assistant director. “The Bay Supper sells out every year, and the larger space allows more guests to attend this fun evening.”

Live and silent auctions highlight the event, with auctioneer Kaleb Hurley.

“There is always something for everyone at both our silent and live auctions,” Watson said. “This year is no exception with prints, paintings, jewelry, filled baskets, and much more on the silent auction tables.”

The live auction features unique experiences, such as a dinner-for-six with chef Honor Keller, a deluxe golfing package for four from Penn National, and many more.

The popular “Heads n’ Tails” game will be back with great prizes.

Proceeds from the event benefit The Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides programming in environmental education and cultural history for area school children, plus workshops, lectures, programs and community events for all ages.

Tickets are $75 per person, or $90 per person for patrons. Patrons are listed in the event program. Register for the Bay Supper online at www.natureandcultureinstitute.org. For more information, contact The Institute at (717) 762-0373 or email to: [email protected].

“There is also a Bay Supper To-Go meal option available for $75 to support the event if you can’t attend,” Watson said.
