Get Ready for Jammin’ for the Arts

WAYNESBORO– The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro brings Waynesboro’s newest music and arts festival to the boro. Jammin for the Arts will feature non-stop music on two stages with six bands:

1. The Prophets of the Abstract Truth consist of Carl Disque, Arnie Helmick and Bob Courter. They conjure a mystical blend of blues, bossa nova and Latin-tinged modern jazz standards, as well as jazzy covers of Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and even Beatles.

2. On Tap Duo – Drew Adams and Pat Henson play a wide variety of popular music. Most of their influences come from the 1990’s, but some of the more classic selections include covers by Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, and Van Morrison.

3. Kin Selection was formed as an acoustic duo by Jon Ingels and Claire Martin in the summer of 2020. With the addition of Andrew Mowen on drums and Johnny Calamari on bass, Kin Selection is now a full band playing everything from classic country and bluegrass to modern pop. There are no limits on what they might play!

4. Bluegrass Hootenanny – Enjoy some great Bluegrass music with Johnny Calamari (vocals and bass) & Brad Munn (vocals and guitar).

5. West Branch 3 is a string band that dabbles in bluegrass, old-time, and Appalachia with some other flavors of music mixed in. Members include Jon Kettomen (upright bass and vocals), Brian Lutz (banjo, guitar, and vocals), and Brad Munn (fiddle, guitar, and vocals).

6. The Brahman Noodles are a Jug Funk band – which is a hybrid of blues, funk, jug band and Americana.

Along with local bands and musicians there will be artists demonstrations and original handmade local art for sale. 633 Brewing will be on site for food and beverages.

Jammin for the Arts takes place on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2 pm to 6 pm ar 118 Walnut Street in Waynesboro. Admission is $35 and includes one free beverage of your choice.
