WAYNESBORO – The Wayne Band, now in its 126th year, will present a concert at 3 p.m. June 8 at the Church of the Apostles, 336 Barnett Ave.
The community band’s annual performance will feature standard band literature and music in celebration of Flag Day. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the outdoor concert, with the performance moving indoors in the event of inclement weather.
The Wayne Band, directed by Daniel Deatrich, has been a staple of the Waynesboro community since its founding in 1899. Over the decades, the ensemble has performed at local events, parades and holiday celebrations, providing music for generations of residents. The band’s Flag Day concert is a long-standing tradition, drawing audiences from across Franklin County and beyond.
The June 8 concert continues the group’s mission of sharing live music with the community. Organizers hope the event will bring together families and music lovers of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of patriotic and traditional band selections.
