Wilson College graduates urged to serve at 155th commencement

CHAMBERSBURG – Wilson College honored the Class of 2025 at its 155th annual commencement ceremony with a call to service, resilience and leadership.

Commencement speaker Tori Murden McClure, renowned explorer and former university president, addressed the graduates on May 4 as “odd young fledglings” and “tough older birds.” McClure drew on her experiences skiing across the South Pole and rowing solo across the Atlantic Ocean, weaving in wisdom from philosophers and poets. She encouraged graduates to be brave, to listen, and to use their education to reduce suffering in the world.

“When this commencement ends, I hope your service to the world will begin anew,” McClure said. “Go out and make Wilson College proud.”

Graduate student speaker Kevin C. Wells, who earned his master of organizational leadership, inspired fellow graduates to lead with purpose and compassion, reflecting on his career mentoring students at Milton Hershey School.

Undergraduate student speaker Erin Rebecca Roszkowiak, Class of 2025 president and the first Wilson student to graduate with honors in veterinary nursing, reflected on her academic journey and looked ahead to veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania.
