CHAMBERSBURG– Fourteen students at Cumberland Valley Christian School were inducted into the National Honor Society on Tuesday, May 13, during a ceremony that recognized both academic excellence and outstanding Christian character.
To be considered for the honor, students must maintain a cumulative average of 94 percent in all subjects and demonstrate exemplary Christian values. The newest inductees include four seniors, one junior and nine sophomores.
State Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin/Adams) served as the guest speaker, challenging the students to continue striving for excellence in all areas of life. Honor Society advisor Ren Lundy presented the certificates, marking his final induction before retiring at the end of the school year.
Cumberland Valley Christian School, established in 1974, serves more than 450 students from preschool through high school and is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and the Middle States Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. The school is a ministry of The Open Door Church in Chambersburg.
