BOONSBORO, Md. – Washington County officials are inviting singers and musicians of all ages to audition for a chance to perform at the county’s 250th Anniversary Celebration, part of the nationwide commemoration of the United States’ semiquincentennial in 2026.
The county is seeking vocal and instrumental renditions of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America” for performances during the July 4, 2026, event. Selected performers will have the opportunity to take the stage at the Agricultural Education Center in Boonsboro, joining a lineup of local businesses, artisans and organizations in a daylong celebration of community and history.
The anniversary event will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence and will highlight Washington County’s heritage with historical reenactments, parades, concerts and family-friendly activities throughout the year. Organizers encourage residents and visitors to participate by sharing stories, volunteering or attending the festivities.
Auditions can be submitted online through the county’s official anniversary website. The 250th Anniversary Celebration aims to bring together the community to honor the past and look toward the future, making it a once-in-a-lifetime community celebration.
