Esther Mary Smith, 96 formally of Waynesboro, PA passed away Saturday April 26, 2025, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
She was the wife of the late Lloyd L. Smith.
Born March 23, 1929, in Phoenixville, PA she was the daughter of the late John Otter and the late Frances Dowlin Otter.
Esther grew up in the Exton area and graduated from Downingtown Senior High School.
She worked as a homemaker in Waynesboro.
Esther was a member of the Church of the Brethren, past matron of the Eastern Star and a proud member of the Franklin County Farm Women.
She enjoyed reading, baking and spending time with her family.
Esther is survived by her daughter, Sharon S. (John) Rothwell; grandson, Kevin (Erin) Rothwell; and granddaughters, Susanne Farnesi and Mary Kate Phillips (Ryan). Esther also had seven great grandchildren that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd and son, Larry.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro is assisting with the arrangements.
