CHAMBERSBURG – The Franklin County Redevelopment Authority, administered by the Franklin County Area Development Corporation, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and the Borough of Waynesboro to support the purchase of a vacant residential lot in the borough.
The redevelopment agency presented Habitat with a check for $15,965.75, covering the full cost of the lot acquisition. The property, located on Ridge Avenue, is designated as the future site of Habitat’s eighth homebuilding project in Waynesboro. Funding was made possible through the County Impact Grant awarded to the Redevelopment Authority in support of this initiative.
“We are committed to serving all of Franklin County and always enjoy working in the Waynesboro community,” said Mark Story, director of advancement for Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County. “We are grateful to the Redevelopment Authority, the Borough of Waynesboro and the county commissioners for their partnership in making this future project possible.”
Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County was formed in 1994, and volunteers have constructed 60 homes in partnership with local families in Franklin County. This helps to achieve Habitat’s vision of “A world where everyone has a decent place to live and ensures there is adequate affordable housing stock in Franklin County for everyone to live, work, worship, study and play.
