HARRISBURG – Resurfacing of a portion of Interstate 81 in Antrim Township running from the Maryland state line to Mile 6 in the Greencastle area should begin on Tuesday, April 22, weather permitting, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The $17.8 million project should be completed by July 16, 2027, PennDOT officials said.
The contractor will work from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, then nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the following night.
Work will begin in the southbound direction, PennDOT officials noted. There will be lane restrictions during work hours.
This project consists of milling, concrete patching, asphalt resurfacing, guiderail updates, signage and pavement markings on northbound and southbound I-81 from the Maryland State Line to Milepost 6, including ramps located within the project limits.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on the project.
