Phyllis J. Brown, 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home. Born August 27, 1935, in Franklin, PA, Venango County, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Mary A. O’Polka Hores. Her beloved husband of 58 years, James H. Brown II, whom she married on September 29, 1962, preceded her in death on February 15, 2021.
Phyllis was a graduate of Franklin Area High School. She attended the Spencer School of Nursing where she trained to become a Registered Nurse. She was employed as a nurse with Polk State Hospital and later as a Teacher’s Aide at Sugar Creek Elementary until her retirement. Phyllis enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. Family was extremely important to her and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by two daughters, Tiffany A. Brown of Albrightsville, PA, and Corinne A. Killian (Jimmie) of Chambersburg, PA; one granddaughter, Kayla Binkley (Corey) of Quincy, PA, and her brother, Edward Hores of Groveport, OH.
Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
