CHAMBERSBURG – Ground has been broken for a new $19.5 million campus that will become a bigger and more efficient home for the Public Works Department of Chambersburg.
The project, which Director of the Department of Public Works Charles Nipe spoke very highly about will keep select vehicles warm from freezing temperatures, such as trash trucks and water trucks, as well as provide administrative offices for the Department.
The project will include five buildings in all. Nipe said the new campus will be “a positive project for the borough and for the borough residents,” stating that the campus design will “blend in” and be “a great addition to [the] neighborhood.”
While construction of the campus started March 3, it will not be completed until October 2026.
