WAYNESBORO – Buttonwood Nature Center, home of The Institute, is offering a new series of six outdoor nature programs for preschoolers in March and April.
Designed for pre-K children ages 2.5 to 5, the Wee Wonders programs will run on six Mondays, March 24 and 31 and April 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro. Registration for the full series is required.
Taught by Buttonwood educators, age-appropriate Wee Wonders activities include exploring the outdoors, hikes, theme-related story books, rhymes, finger plays, nature games, crafts, songs and puppets.
“Geared for our youngest budding naturalists, these programs are designed to inspire outdoor wonder as we celebrate the spring season,” said Kettie Leighty, Buttonwood instructor.
Pre-registration for the full series and payment in advance are required by March 20. The fee for all six sessions is $42 per child for Buttonwood/Institute members; $48 for the general public, per child. The series is limited to 15 children. Readers may register online at www.buttonwoodnaturecenter.org.
