GREENCASTLE – The Greencastle Exchange Club has named Aidan Pearce, an eighth-grade student at Greencastle-Antrim Middle School, as its February Citizen of the Month.
Aidan, son of Ryan Pearce and Heather and Ryan Booher, was selected based on his exemplary citizenship, positive attitude, dependability, good judgment and commitment to personal academic goals.
His math teacher, Sarah Gerber, praised Aidan’s strong work ethic and willingness to help fellow students. Derek Anthony, another teacher, noted Aidan’s respectful demeanor and active class participation.
Aidan’s teachers unanimously commended his kindness, commitment to excellence and leadership skills, which make him a role model for his peers. They also highlighted his enthusiasm for learning, particularly in history, where he demonstrates a deep knowledge of historical events.
Outside the classroom, Aidan is involved in freshman football and plans to join the track and field team. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and participating in Boy Scouts of America activities. Aidan also has a passion for rock music, camping and beach trips.
The award was presented at a ceremony attended by Aidan’s family, including his father Ryan Pearce, mother and stepfather Heather and Ryan Booher, and younger brother Grayson. Also present were Troy Shew, treasurer of the Exchange Club, Assistant Principal Ron Cordell and Science teacher Derek Anthony.
