CHAMBERSBURG – Shannon M. Jackson, a WellSpan software developer and community advocate, is proud to announce his candidacy for Chambersburg Borough Council Ward 2. With a strong background in technology and a commitment to serving the community, Jackson said he aims to bring innovative solutions and a fresh perspective to local governance.
Jackson has been a software developer at WellSpan Health, formerly Summit Health, since 2001 and has been employed in Chambersburg since 1993. Over the past three decades, as a leader in his field, he has engineered custom applications supporting healthcare finance, credentialing and administrative services.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jackson holds a master of arts in military history from Norwich University and a bachelor of arts in physics from California State University, Chico. He has also pursued additional coursework in business administration and accounting as well as Mechanical Engineering showcasing his dedication to lifelong learning and diverse expertise.
Further demonstrating his commitment to local community and economic development, Jackson has been a certified tourism ambassador through the Franklin County Visitors Bureau since 2023. This role highlights his enthusiasm for promoting Franklin County’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
“I am passionate about making a positive impact on our community,” Jackson said. “As a member of the Borough Council, I will work tirelessly to address the needs of Ward 2 residents and ensure that Chambersburg continues to economically and culturally thrive.”
