Peaches is a sweet, loving 8-year-old Lab that was surrendered to the shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. When she arrived, Peaches was very itchy and missing fur from her face and spots on her back and legs. Peaches was previously on Apoquel for allergies but was not working for her. An allergy test was sent out and came back that Peaches does not have any type of allergies, either food or environmental (aside from carrots). A skin scraping was done, and it was found that Peaches had sarcoptic mange, a very itchy and contagious type of skin mite. Peaches was on treatment for the mange and secondary skin infection for 3 months and has made a full recovery since! She did very well during her treatment and is very glad to not be itchy anymore! Sweet Pea came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have a lot of information about her, but we think she’s about 10 years old. Despite the grumpy expression, Sweet Pea is actually a really nice girl. She’s looking to find a pace where she can spend her golden years. Could that be with you?
