This past weekend, the charming town of Chambersburg came alive with the excitement of its annual IceFest. The festivities kicked off on Thursday evening, transforming Downtown Chambersburg into a winter wonderland. As the 23rd edition of this beloved event began, clear skies and mild temperatures in the 40s set the perfect stage for the four-day celebration.
As the sculptors worked their magic, crowds gathered to watch the creative process unfold. The air filled with a fine mist of ice chips, adding to the wintery atmosphere. Meanwhile, downtown merchants kept their doors open, welcoming visitors with warm hospitality. Food trucks and outdoor vendors offered an array of snacks and dinner options to fuel the curious patrons.
The festival also paid homage to Chambersburg’s rich history, with horse-drawn carriages clip-clopping down Main Street. A tunnel of twinkling white and blue lights illuminated the avenue, creating a magical ambiance that transported visitors to a bygone era. The nostalgic atmosphere evoked memories of simpler times, adding a touch of enchantment to the already festive mood.
