Mr. Herbert U. Brown, Jr., 77, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born October 8, 1947 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Herbert U. Brown, Sr. and Margaret E. (Knepper) Brown.
He graduated from Smithsburg High School with the Class of 1965.
Mr. Brown served with the United States Army from May 1968 until October 1969, including a tour in Vietnam.
He and his wife of over 56 years, Mary Ann (Watson) Brown, were married on March 22, 1968 in Cascade, MD.
Mr. Brown worked for Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, for over 47 years. He retired as a Material Control Manager.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and his puppy, Rocky. He also enjoyed woodworking in his shop, cooking and yardwork.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Amy B. Groff (Jeff) of Myerstown, PA and Adam G. Brown (Nicole) of Waynesboro; one sister, Donna Mong of Hagerstown, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Bock.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD.
